Normalization of Inputs, by Umps, Data Mining Open Forum:

I'm clustering some dietary intake data using K-means clustering to understand the different dietary patterns in the UK population.

I want to include inputs that are in different unit and don't want to get rid of the natural variation in the data by standardising all my variables to z-scores.

However I feel I need to do something to allow the variables of different units to allow the variables to be on a more equal footing.
