TunedIT on-line data mining and machine learning competition platform is now open for teachers who want to organize on-line student contests
No more boring assignments. Professors may launch on-line competitions instead
Getting credits for laboratory classes does not need to be boring,
anymore. TunedIT, the data-mining
researchers' and practitioners' website, opened up its
on-line competition platform
for all professors and tutors who would like to make their courses more
attractive and valuable through organization of on-line student
contests instead of traditional assignments. The platform was
originally used in 2009 for Data Mining and Artificial Intelligence
classes at the University of Warsaw, Poland, with a great success. From
now on, it is freely available for everyone.
Use of TunedIT Challenges platform has a lot of advantages. Participant
registration, submission of solutions and publication of results is
managed by TunedIT system. Thanks to live leaderboard and automated
evaluation of solutions, students get instant feedback about their
preliminary results,
may compare them with others' and improve their solutions,
actively searching for the best algorithm and learning from one's own
mistakes. Complete automation of assignment evaluation saves also time
for teachers.
Competitions can be used in all courses that deal with intelligent data
analysis, like:
Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Knowledge
Discovery, Pattern Recognition,
Computer Vision, Computational Biology and others.
