Amanda Cox on How The New York Times Graphics Department Uses R

By Drew Conway, R-bloggers, Mar 14, 2011

Last month, Amanda Cox from The New York Times Graphic Department gave a great talk to the NYC R Statistical Programming Meetup. ... Amanda made use of a lot of web content, and we are not setup to do screen capturing, so the video is a bit more useful to listen to than to watch. Amanda's talk was great, however, and I highly recommend it to anyone thinking of using R as an exploratory tool for professional data visualization.

From event's description: How R is used in the news cycle at the The New York Times to crunch data and prepare graphics before they go to print or online; How to represent uncertainty in an accessible way, and how to move beyond "Here is some data" toward something closer to inference.
