The framework for this webinar comes from Wayne Eckerson's (Tech Target) recent breakthrough report on in-memory-data-management, "In-Memory Analysis: Delivering Insights at the Speed of Thought". This report does an excellent job of creating a framework that positions business intelligence into four different categories:
(1) Reporting Intelligence
(2) Analytical Intelligence
(3) Content Intelligence and
(4) Continuous Intelligence.

At the highest level, the two primary BI applications-reporting and analysis-are fundamentally different applications with very different types of users and unique workloads, design frameworks and architectures. Yet, they are interrelated: Analysis leads to reports and reports trigger new questions that lead to the need for additional analysis." Both are critical for making the most out of an investment in big data.
