RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for developing a novel imaging database for microscopic images for drug delivery. They will also develop and maintain sophisticated data management schemes for imaging in support of data intensive biological research efforts.
REQUIREMENTS:
- PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science or closely related discipline
- 2 years experience in programming languages in Java, J2EE, R
- Strong experience in developing databases using Oracle, MySQL, or similar
- Established track record of bioinformatics or computational biology research as shown by at least 2 peer-reviewed publications in these fields
PREFERENCES:
- Strong verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills
- Evidence of ability to work independently with attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team-based environment
- Web and database development skills
- Established track record of applying statistical and/or data mining techniques to research problems
TERMS:
1 year position with option for renewal
