Applications are invited for a full-time postdoctoral position. The initial appointment will begin in November 2010. The postdoc will join a NSF-funded project developing a knowledgebase for Invertebrate Paleontology. Required qualifications include a relevant PHD and programming proficiency. Experience in knowledgebase system design is a plus. Position is renewable subject to yearly evaluation.
This position requires a PhD degree in computer science or a related discipline, with research experience in one or more of the following areas: information retrieval, machine learning, data mining, image processing/computer vision, and natural language processing. The postdoc researcher will work closely with a team of academics, PhD students and undergraduates. Strong written and communication skills are a plus.
