Research Assistant Salary: 11,700 baht/month + Health Benefits

2 Research Assistant (RA) position is available immediately at the Center of Data Mining and Biomedical Informatics, Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University under the direction of Assistant Professor Dr. Chanin Nantasenamat. The RA will take part in an interdisciplinary research project in bioinformatics/ cheminformatics/ data mining with the objective of designing, modeling and simulating novel therapeutic drugs for the treatment of breast cancer. The RA will occasionally exchange ideas with peers carrying out research work in diverse research areas (Molecular Biology, Protein Engineering, Medicinal Chemistry, etc.)

Qualifications

The position is highly computational in nature and would be suitable for graduates in computer science or related disciplines (Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics and Physics (or) Biochemistry, Chemistry and Molecular Biology with computational component). The position is open to graduates with previous experience in bioinformatics however recent graduates with no prior experience but are highly motivated to learn are also encouraged to apply.

Applicants having the following requirements would be an advantage:

• Comfortable working in a computer environment
• Knowledge of programming language (C, C++, Java, Matlab, R, etc.)
• Knowledge of scripting language (Python, Perl, etc.)
• Working knowledge of biochemistry
