We are seeking a candidate with experience of machine learning methods and statistics to analyse data in the health care domain. Several projects require a need for optimal feature selection under a set of constraints, classification, ranking, and dealing with sequential data and incomplete information. The candidate will work closely with researchers, and direct business contacts who use analysis of the data to change the workflows and practices to be competitive. The ability to deal with the challenges posed by 'real world data', decide which techniques are appropriate for a given task, and to be thorough in the analysis of results are required. Successful application of the techniques will result in real workflow changes in service deliveryand direct benefits of such data analysis.
The chosen candidate will join the Machine Learning for Optimisation and Services group at the Xerox Research Centre Europe. This group conducts fundamental as well as applied research in statistical machine learning and mechanism design, and has experience with both unstructured or semi-structured data typically extracted from text and structured data coming from databases and data warehouses.
Duration: 18 months
Experience/diploma required:
