Postdoctoral positions in machine learning and data mining for clinical risk modeling
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the
University of Michigan (www.eecs.umich.edu/) has openings for
two postdoctoral research positions to investigate machine learning
and data mining issues related to risk modeling in clinical datasets.
Researchers will have the opportunity to work on a number of exciting
topics in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment,
and will interact closely with investigators at the University of
Michigan Health System, Henry Ford Health System, Harvard Medical
School, and MIT.
Successful researchers are expected to conduct original research that
advances computational intelligence to model long-term physiological
time-series and identify temporal characteristics associated with
future risk, and to design statistical approaches that integrate
multi-dimensional data to explore the mechanisms underlying disease
processes. These ideas will be explored and evaluated in the context
of cardiovascular and neurological applications, with the goal of
achieving a translational impact in real-world settings to manage
patients with chronic diseases.
Requirements:
Candidates should hold a PhD (or equivalent degree) in
computer science, electrical engineering, information science, or a
related field.
