The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University seek applicants for tenure-track/tenured faculty positions in Big Data. Areas of interest include: management, analytics, mining or visualization of massive data sets to grow our efforts in the important thrust areas of Health, Energy, Sustainability and Security.

The data management and analytics group in the Fulton Schools of Engineering includes faculty working on a variety of topics including data mining and machine learning, statistical analysis, multimedia, visualization, data storage and query processing. Extensive collaborations exist across the university, including BioDesign Institute, Global Institute of Sustainability and Institute of Humanities Research. The current openings are intended to broaden this expertise and expand collaborations.

The successful candidate will hold an earned Ph.D. or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or related field. Required qualifications also include demonstrated evidence of excellence in research and teaching as appropriate to the candidate's rank. Desired qualifications include a commitment to trans-disciplinary teaming.

Faculty members are expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program, develop and teach graduate and undergraduate courses, advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students and undertake service activities.

Appointments will be at the assistant, associate or full professor rank commensurate with the candidate's experience and accomplishments, starting August 2013. Although appointments may be in any of Fulton Engineering's five schools, the Computer Science and Industrial Engineering programs in the School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems are currently the most involved in big data.
