We are currently seeking a talented
Quantitative Business Analyst
for our San Antonio, TX facility.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
Prepares business related analyses and research in one or more of the following areas: planning and forecasting, workload/capacity planning, product performance, campaign performance, process performance, financial impact analysis, and member behavior analysis. Facilitates and participates in the definition of business problems and opportunities, and in the development of data and analytical requirements. Collaborates with team members to resolve issues of a moderately complex to complex nature and problem resolution across systems, processes or channels.
JOB DUTIES:
- This position will be tasked with driving and embedding the enterprise Price Elasticity of demand and revenue programs, Lifetime value and portfolio (product) optimization agenda for USAA.
- Analyzes trends, develops algorithms and models, prepares results and presents findings and/or recommendations to identify new opportunities to improve business results, or to explain impact of business initiatives or strategies.
- Has a maturing understanding of the business, its products and processes and begins to apply analytical methodology. Provides recommendations to team members in the analysis of data. Partitions the analysis/effort into manageable pieces and applies practical methods of solution, with proper emphasis on the most crucial components.
- Identifies and understands the intended goals of the project/effort or request and applies appropriate methodology to gather information. Serves as a resource to less experienced team members on escalated issues of a routine nature.
- Resolves issues and navigates obstacles to deliver work product. Consider interdependencies with other efforts.
- Synthesizes the analysis and develops good analytical recommendations. Considers internal and external factors and recommends corresponding adjustments to the data where necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) Four or more years relevant business and/or general analysis experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, and Access Basic knowledge of statistics or other quantitative techniques or discipline
- Working knowledge of relevant data analysis tools
- Working knowledge of relevant industry data sources.
Preferred:
- Advanced mathematical and statistical modeling skills (For example but not limited to: logistic regression, survival analysis, NPV modeling, neural net, clustering, optimization, Discrete Choice Modeling).
- High degree of integrative thinking, being able to solve unprecedented problems.
- Solid communications skills, being able to (in written and verbal) communicate finding of complex analysis and ability to influence senior leadership.
- Masters (or equivalent work experience) in quantitative disciplines like, economics, engineering, math, statistics etc.
- High degree of competence with SAS (data step and proc's) and SQL as well as building sophisticated models using techniques such as Logistics regression, Discretized modeling, Reject Inference, Segmentation.
- Experience working as a consultant and/or a statistician.
