What is Strategic Analytics?
Strategic Analytics is a newly formed department within Humana. It is charged with extracting new, consumer focused intelligence from the extensive masses of internal and 3rd party data to better inform the organization about developing a relationship with the consumers we cover.
The Role
We're looking for quantitatively trained and experienced analysts who have naturally curious and innovative minds who want to be part of a fun and productive team. If you have a "Roll up your sleeves and get dirty in the data" attitude, this opportunity is for you.
The successful candidate will develop insights into drivers of consumer health oriented behaviors. These methods will incorporate machine learning, data mining, statistical analysis, pattern recognition, predictive modeling, artificial intelligence and optimization. We are passionate about combining and analyzing diverse types of data to extract new, actionable discoveries about our members and their health related behavior.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Develop predictive models to drive acquisition, retention, loyalty, wellness, consumer engagement and satisfaction.
- Participate in the development and selection of new data sources and ensuring the quality and reliability of the data
- Communicate, implement, and integrate statistical tools developed into the internal systems for ongoing use
- Measure and communicate the effect of models in production
- Develop campaign and communications test designs
- Develop innovative methods for allowing consumer data to contribute to price elasticity models and new product development
- Present derived recommendations to our clients within the business.
- Provide data driven support of sales efforts
- Participation in relationships with HumanaÂ's external partners.
Role Essentials
- Ability to effectively juggle multiple projects while meeting competing deadlines
- Proven ability to present solutions using both technical and non-technical arguments, for business interpretation of models and results
- Knowledge of applications that process large amounts of data
- Knowledge of data mining, statistics, analytic methods and tools, techniques and algorithms
- MS, PhD, or directly relevant experience in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or strongly relevant field.
- 3-6 years experience
Role Desirables
- Knowledge of Marketing Analytics, Econometrics or Epidemiology
- Comfort working with extremely large data sets
- Knowledge of health care data and/or clinical environments
- Familiarity with SAS, MATLAB, R or similar statistical tools
- Exposure with relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server, ...)
- Record of academic publication
