We are seeking statistical & machine learning researchers with a passion for applying their craft to massive web 2.0 datasets and that will help us advance the state of the art in social networking analytics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to the development of our award winning software platform through applied research, experience, and creativity.
• Develop/prototype/patent algorithms in areas such text classification, clustering, summarization, visualization, information extraction, opinion mining, sentiment analysis, and network & link analysis.
• Be a subject matter expert in advanced analytics and an expert in our products and offerings. Write papers, give presentations, participate in research & customer communities, and advance thought leadership.
• Perform data extraction, manipulation, cleaning, analysis, modeling, and data mining in support of your contributions.

• Deep knowledge and experience in text mining & analytics.
• Must have demonstrated experience with large-scale data mining, machine learning or predictive modeling in industry.
• Strong programming skills in at least one language such as Java/C# and scripting languages such as Perl/Python/Ruby. Ability to work with SQL and relational databases.
• Must have good presentation & writing skills.
• Must be able to thrive in a fast paced, customer-focused, collaborative environment.
• Must be able to work hands-on with minimal supervision or assistance.
• Masters in computer science, mathematics, statistics or related disciplines. PhD preferred.

• Experience in Social Media, Web 2.0, and Marketing domains.
• Experience with multi-lingual text mining and information retrieval.
• Experience with massive data, ideally with Lucene & Hadoop stack.
• Experience with statistical & analytics packages (R, Weka, RapidMiner, Gate, Lingpipe, etc.).
• Experience with relevant dataset such as TREC.
