Our Analytics department is currently seeking a Statistical Analyst II to join their group in the Walnut Creek office.
The Statistical Analyst II will prepare, research, analyze and coordinate with the Auto/Homeowners Claims departments on all statistical filings for submittal to regulatory agencies. Other responsibilities will include analyzing, testing, and verifying rate-making and loss reserving system changes and testing internal and sponsored vendors' premium rating systems for accuracy.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assists in the preparation, research and analysis of statistical filings to be submitted to rate regulatory agencies, statistical agencies and insurance agencies including AIPSO annual data call for AAA Assigned Risks loss experience.
- Works closely with the Insurance Analysts to compile raw data and create reports to address business needs.
- Reviews and analyzes data to ensure accuracy and addresses any potential problems
- Assists data mining programmers to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
- May provide guidance & assistance to lower level associates & other functional areas.
- Works within significant limits & authority on assignments of higher complexity & coordination.
Required:
- 3-5 years of experience performing statistical data reporting
- College level courses in Statistics, Mathematics
- Expert level proficiency in Excel.
- Basic knowledge of SAS or other database programming languages.
Preferred:
- Previous experience and/or knowledge of Property & Casualty Claims handling process
- Proficiency in Cognos
