The Manager, Business Analytics will oversee the development, enhancement, and implementation of promotional price elasticity models and analytical insights to generate profitable incremental sales and margin impacts through strategic pricing initiatives. Leverage state-of-the-art data mining tools and modeling techniques. Prepare documentation for developed models and provide analytical support to merchant business units.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, enhance, and execute statistical models to generate profitable incremental sales and margin through improved promotional price effectiveness.
• Manage strategic pricing analyses from developmental stages through to execution and on-going measurement, assessment, and refinement.
• Conceptualize analytical and modeling framework, define data requirements, build regression models and related analyses, create actionable insights, and implement strategies and processes within merchant business units and IT.
• Develop, manage, and enhance strategic promotional pricing tools and systems, including analytic updates and on-going modeling (seasonality, base-lining, uplift, cannibalization, and halo) improvements.
• Perform timely ad hoc analytics projects to support business initiatives
• Provide recommendations and solutions based on advanced analytic methodology and through intimate understanding of the data and the overall retail landscape.

Education/Training

• MS or MA in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or other related fields with emphasis in quantitative methods.

• Familiarity with multivariate statistical analysis including linear regression, time-series forecasting, logistic regression, and multivariate analyses.
• 4+ years prior professional data mining or modeling experience (in disciplines such as pricing analytics in retail, consulting, or software vendor environment or market mix modeling, marketing analytics, credit scoring, financial services marketing, portfolio risk analytics) is a plus.
• Extensive project experience conducting analysis across cross-functional teams to successfully implement enterprise wide initiatives, especially in large organizations.
• Active curiosity - must enjoy gathering and digging deeply into data to identify issues and solve problems
• Strong work ethic complemented by a positive, can-do attitude

• Knowledge of SAS (Base, Stat, ETS) or other data mining packages; SQL programming and relational databases
• Ability to work in a team environment
