Responsibilities:
KXEN is looking for a Technical Director to join our US operations. Based in San Francisco, you will be responsible for technical pre-sales support, training, and consulting activities in the western region of the US.
- Technical Presales:
- Be regarded by the client as a thought leader and advisor
- Participate in sales conference calls and prospect visits.
- Lead discussions discovering and defining customer requirements.
- Conduct product demonstrations using prospect data
- Tailor communications with clients to address their specific business needs
- Develop proposals and project plans addressing how our technical team and KXEN technology can support the client's specific business requirements
- Work with Sales Personnel to provide product, business and technical knowledge in support of technical sales activities
- Post Sales
- Mentor customers to ensure successful KXEN implementations. This may include weekly, monthly, or semi-annual on-site visits or conference calls. Engagement with the clients should be based on the size of the maintenance contract and the skillset/needs of the users.
- Provide specific technical and functional support as part of the maintenance agreements such as helping identifying problems and reporting them to Development
- Responsible for providing feedback from the market to Product Management and Development regarding products including coordinating gaps between product functionality and market/customer demands, and managing the response to these customer demands and fulfillment by Development
- Support Training and Consulting
- Provide thought leadership on how KXEN can be used for Customer Lifecycle Analytics
- Deliver training on KXEN products to customers/prospects with various experience with data mining
- Develop, as necessary and requested by the client, custom training programs or revise existing training materials to meet particular audience's needs.
- Work as project manager and/or consultant on a variety of data mining projects
- Support Marketing
- Liaison with Product Managers and Development to understand details of product direction and design and communicate information back to sales organization
- Work with Product Management to develop and deliver training on business problems, products, and messages for new pre-Sales team members
- Develop presentation proposals for speaking events at conferences
- Give conference presentations and deliver webinars which pull together industry experience and product knowledge
Requirements:
- 5+ years of work experience in software technical sales, pre-sales, or consulting, with 3+ years driving revenue in a presales role.
- Experience with and comfort in discussing to role of analytics in customer lifecycle analytics and campaign management applications
- Knowledge of data mining, machine learning, and pattern analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of commercial data mining and statistics software.
- Experience in RDBMS packages (Oracle, DB2, Teradata, MS-SQL, etc.)
- Experience as a project leader or manager.
- Able and willing to travel up to 50% of the time
- Must work well independently and also as member of a team

- Experience with Perl, C++, Java, & VB
- Experience with a commercial software engineering lifecycle (MRDs, PRDs, functional specifications, etc.)
