We are searching for a business intelligence (BI) and analytics veteran to support the Netflix Product Development Team. Netflix is innovating the way people discover and watch movies and TV shows on the Web, on the TV, on gaming consoles, and on mobile devices. Much of this is new territory and needs to be evaluated empirically. We are looking for someone to lead a team of BI developers and analysts to help support the evolution of our products and services through the use of data and analytics. This person will work directly with the Product Development Team and be involved in all aspects of the analytics process. Given the dynamic nature of our organization we are looking for an individual with a diverse background - someone with a product focus, but with a BI background and analytics experience. Leadership skills are imperative - the role will manage 5-8 senior-level direct reports. However, hands-on skills are also critical in order stay agile and connected with the team and the content of the data.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain the data infrastructure to support business analysis (Requirements gathering, ETL, Dimensional Data Modeling, Reporting ...etc).
• Support the reporting and analysis of our product initiatives (AB Testing, OLAP Analysis, Data Mining, ...etc).
• Recruit and build a team of Silicon Valley's top BI/Analytics talent.
• Prioritize and allocate resources to various and dynamic initiatives. Work with cross functional teams to ensure alignment on goals and tactics.
• Develop agile processes for fluid delivery of data, information, and analyses to the business.
• Maintain a sustainable balance between enterprise needs and that of the specific business group.
• Evangelize and educate on the use of the BI platform for strategic decision-making.

• PhD/MS/BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
• Prior experience as a successful Director or VP of Business Intelligence, Data Mining, or Data Architecture. Strong preference for experience with consumer-facing internet products & services.
• Experience with Reporting/BI tools (Microstrategy strongly preferred).
• Solid knowledge of data warehousing concepts is a must.
• Experienced in ETL development and tools.
• Extensive experience with relational databases and SQL for analytic processing is a must (Teradata and Oracle preferred).
• Experience with distributed analytic processing technologies is desired (Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce, ...etc)
• Proficiency with cloud architectures, distributed systems, Amazon Web Services also desired.

• You will need to be comfortable to working in the most agile of environments. Requirements will be vague. Iterations will be rapid. You will need to take smart risks and design to with extreme flexibility.
