Analytics Specialist: Jersey City and San Diego

Opera Solutions is hiring analytic talent. Work with the senior team and learn how to design, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art, data-driven predictive models to solve business problems using the latest and most appropriate technologies in machine learning, statistical modeling and Operations Research. Deliver value in the market place through: consulting engagements; new product development; and/or through research initiatives.

Main responsibilities include: analysis of industrial-size data sets to determine suitability for model building; data clean-up and filtering; pattern identification and feature extraction; variable selection; experimentation with algorithms; performance analysis and preparation for communication with internal and external clients.

New hire will be part of a technical project team focused on key analytic deliverables and innovations. Some travel required to client locations.

Qualifications

Required:

• Advanced degree (masters or above) in a quantitative field (i.e., Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, etc.).
• Software skills: Experience in Perl, C, C++, or Java.
• Desire to turn theory into practice and solve market value problems.

• Ph.D.
• Strong UNIX background
• Experience with statistics package, SAS
