The Insurance Analytics team is a rapidly expanding group that plays a key role in the ever changing development of the data drive culture within AAA NCNU. The Insurance Analytics team is a highly visible department supporting a wide-range of vital areas within the business including Claims, Insurance Product Management, Actuarial, Insurance Product Operations, Underwriting and Membership. It's this level of exposure and interaction to all areas of the business that creates a wealth of opportunity for career growth for the Insurance Analytics team members.

We are currently seeking a Statistical Analyst to join our team in our corporate office in Walnut Creek, California.

The Statistical Analyst is a key position in supporting the AAA NCNU Claims department. The primary responsibilities will be to extract, transform and standardize data from various sources, turn it into actionable business information and present it to key stakeholders. In addition, the Statistical Analyst will be a vital contributor to metric definition, scorecard design, information system automation and various other related projects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve enterprise performance.
  • Automate manual report generating process
  • Assist with the development of performance measurements and scorecards to measure progress on Claims goals.
  • Work closely with the Insurance Analysts to compile raw data and create reports to address business needs.
  • Support key business stakeholders' ad hoc data needs.
  • Review and analyze data to ensure accuracy and address any potential problems.
Required:
  • 3-5 years of experience performing statistical data reporting
  • Bachelor level degree.
  • Ability to perform rigorous analysis to data and situations to identify key themes in complex data.
  • Knowledge of principles, processes and tools for analyzing and manipulation of large data sets.
  • Ability to communicate in a concise and clear manner.
  • Expert level proficiency in Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of SAS, SQL or other comparable tools.
Preferred:
  • College coursework in Applied Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science
  • Previous experience and/or knowledge of Property & Casualty Insurance Claims operations
  • Proficiency in Cognos or other Business Intelligence technology.
