ACI has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Analytics (Fraud) to join our team in Newton, MA.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a background in the financial services/payments industry with experience leading a team of predictive modelers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages and directs analytics resources in accordance with corporate and division goals and objectives. Instructs and guides team to maximize its technical, managerial, and corporate growth and development. Provides feedback and completes performance appraisals. Develops annual staff salary, training plans, and reports on the status of the staff and projects. Coordinates partnership activities.
- Plans, directs and maintains product and customer projects, including special or complex projects. Reviews work requests and estimates scope of projects. Plans the use of project resources. Implements and controls project schedules and staff performance data. Follows up to ensure goals were met.
- Manages the design, development and production of statistical and predictive models and overall company analytics solutions. Works with colleagues in Product Management to define product strategy, roadmaps, work packages, technologies, pricing and value proposition of predictive analytical solutions. Provides direction and leadership related to the selection and development of tools, methods and techniques related to the evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Initiates and maintains contact with internal and external organizations and individuals to ensure appropriate cooperation, coordination and information exchange, with the goal of properly developing the staff and successfully completing assigned projects.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements Needed:
- MS in mathematics or related area or equivalent experience required; higher education preferred
- 10 years relevant experience
- Mathematical/statistical or financial modeling experience
- 4 years technical project management experience.
- 5 years management experience required.
- Proficient in the use of PCs and the office automation applications that run on them, including schedulers, email, word processors, spreadsheets, and time accounting software.
- Deep understanding of applied mathematics, including neural networks and other modeling techniques.
- Hands on ability to work with data mining technologies, such as SAS.
- Strong understanding of Fraud Management domain.
- Strong knowledge of Payments domain.
- Ability to make technical decisions.
- Ability to lead and motivate technical staff.
- Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form with technical and non-technical personnel.
- Ability to work in high pressure, politically sensitive environments.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to interpret and analyze financial and contractual data.
- Ability to manage in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to identify project assumptions, track outstanding issues, and perform risk analysis.
- Ability to mange product definition and scope control.
- Ability to identify product gaps/needs.
- Ability to adjust resource schedules, quickly and still keep overall project on schedule.
- Ability to set and manage customer expectations.
- Ability to work well individually and in a team environment, this may include other teams and development resources from other channels as well as the head office.
- Demonstrated ability and attitude of being a very strong team player.
- Demonstrated eagerness and ability to embrace change.
- Good understanding of related industry release methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to provide sales support.
- Ability to provide input to the budget process.
Highly Desired Skills:
- 3 years product management experience preferred.
- Bilingual abilities highly desired.
- Advanced degree in mathematics preferred.
