Windows Live Safety Platform - Data Intelligence team brings together Internet security related information from silos around Microsoft - e-mail spam, phishing, malware distribution, click fraud, botnets, etc. - and uses
sophisticated Data Mining algorithms
to make the result more valuable than the sum of the parts.
We implement cutting edge research from a dedicated Applied Research team to identify security threats on the internet and use the data to improve our products. For example, we are producing IP Reputation System integrating with Cloud Directory Platform (CDP) team to mitigate signup abuse.
We are looking for a talented software engineer to design and implement solutions that help Windows, Internet Explorer and Office users make more informed trust/security decisions using Windows Live services.
Qualified candidate should have the following skills/experience:
- Excellent coding skills (C++/Win32/C#)
- Solid technical aptitude and problem solving skills, good collaboration and communication skills, take initiative, and must be result driven
- Strong debugging skills
- Experience working in an agile environment to produce high quality software development
- Experience with data mining/machine learning is a strong plus
- A BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related fields with 5 years of experience, as a developer
