Windows Live Safety platform delivers technologies and services to Windows, Windows Live, IE and Office products to prevent internet abuse such as phishing, malware, spam impacting millions of Microsoft customers. We see spam , phishing , malware attacks everyday and we analyze lots of data to understand the attack vectors and work with Microsoft product units to deliver Client and Service products to systematically address these and make our products Safe. As an SDET in this team, you will develop and execute test strategies for testing complex machine learning algorithms, testing Live Service that need to scale to billions of requests per day , leveraging data driven approaches to provide quality services that impact millions of customers. We also take pride in providing safe online experience for children delivered via Windows Live Family Safety product.

We are looking for a seasoned engineer with a thorough understanding of testing methodologies, a passion for quality, a strong technical background to advance our processes, and a desire to make a positive change in our product.

Position: Software Development Engineer in Test
As a Software Development Engineer in Test within Windows Live Experience, you're a developer who likes to break things. You strive for quality and are focused in improving issues around performance, stress, security, reliability, and more. You're an advocate for the user experience, and determined in ensuring we ship a stable, robust product that delights and excites our users - on time.

To do this, you'll partner closely with members of both the development and program management teams to design and test new features, develop tools & automation, and enhance the overall test infrastructure. You'll be responsible for writing test plans & test cases, performing ad hoc, manual, and automated testing, filing bug reports, and interacting with dogfooders & beta testers.

In addition, you may assist with bug fixing & troubleshooting, code review & code coverage, buddy testing, and work collaboratively to resolve issues both within your team and across the broader organization.

Requirements: We're looking for a variety of skills and experience levels in both web and client (win32) based applications. Above all else, we're looking for smart, passionate candidates who have:

• 3-5 years experience contributing to complex features or products, ideally including multiple full product cycles
• Proven design, coding, and debugging skills with proficiency in C++, and/or C#, ASP.NET and XML Web Services
• Strong knowledge in data structures, algorithms, and Object Oriented programming techniques.
• A BS/MS in computer science or equivalent industry experience An open, collaborative communication style
• An ability to think fast and learn quickly
• A passion for quality Test tools development experience is preferred
