Position description - Research engineer

PEPITe is involved in several innovative and challenging projects with large industries in the area of manufacturing process optimization and smart integration of renewable energy. In order to strengthen our technical staff, we are looking for a young research engineer to develop creative industrial solutions based on data mining technologies. The research engineer will be part of our core technical team with aim to develop innovative solutions for the industry.

In particular the research engineer will address plant informations management systems (PIMS) that are archiving huge amount of measurement data. To transform this data from process monitoring information into valuable knowledge he/she will use predictive analytics to support the decision making process of plant managers and operators. The position involves a close collaboration with University.

Education: Master in engineering

Responsibilities

• Survey of state-of-the art machine learning technologies to process real-time monitoring and events databases.
• Development innovative visualization technologies to support decisions of operators and maintenance managers in real-time.
• Development of smart sensors and smart diagnostics systems to forecast abnormal conditions and discover root causes

• Good knowledge of development in C, C++, R and JAVA
• Very good understanding of machine learning technologies and data mining processes
• Ability to interact with plant operators and engineers
• Excellent analytical skills
• Creativity
