Agilex is seeking Sr. Software Development Engineers to support government program offices located in Alexandria, VA. The successful candidate will be required to be a self-starter with demonstrated experience using machine learning to develop algorithms and enterprise systems to perform network based search and text extraction through entity resolution using structured and unstructured data. Agilex is a dynamic place where you will primarily be working to build new trusted information retrieval systems and operate semantic engineering solutions to support Homeland Security. Advanced Analytics
The Advanced Analytics team is comprised of professionals that possess competency and experience in the areas of risk management, business and operational targeting processes, computational linguistics, machine learning, knowledge discovery, semantic engineering, probabilistic and statistical data mining. Advanced Analytics professionals use these skills to assess, analyze, and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of targeting methods, operational control processes, offer recommendations to improve operations, and assist clients with enterprise risk and compliance activities.
A successful candidate will possess strong experience software development, SDLC, enterprise architecture and systems implementation, computational linguistics, machine learning and data mining. Excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism and self-awareness as well as the ability to communicate comfortably with all levels of staff and management are a must. The position is within the Homeland Security organization and primary duty will be the design and implementation of scalable systems to solve sensitive information retrieval and data mining problems.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop algorithms and workflows that utilize large dataset including unstructured and structured data for information retrieval, data mining and risk assessment
- Create adaptive machine learning systems to support the development, testing, delivery and maintenance of semantic operation and data management including latent semantic indexing systems
- Develop text extraction, classification techniques and algorithms
- Providing proactive and workable solutions for the clients as needed. Deliverables will include analytical consulting, statistical models, quantitative solutions for business operations and systems implementation
- Support program lifecycle of the projects including customer interaction, and technical delivery
- Client interaction includes daily contact across multiple teams and personnel
- Work in a collaborative manner with team members and customers to gather requirements, analyze data and interact with multiple internal data management groups to support data analysis and develop analytical processes for operations
- Utilize data mining techniques and information retrieval methods to gather business intelligence
- Effectively communicate with internal teams and external clients to deliver analytical solutions
- Strong analytical skills coupled with business intelligence and database knowledge
Qualifications
- BS degree or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field
- At least 3 years experience using NLP techniques, Bayesian classification, entity resolution, text extraction
- Strong knowledge of advanced information retrieval algorithms such as Latent Semantic Indexing, fuzzy cognitive maps, classification, clustering, expert models, document summarization and artificial intelligence
- Strong capability to build algorithms and develop name variations plus disambiguation techniques
- Expertise in C++, Java and enterprise development experience with open source, commercial analytical modeling platforms, data mining and information retrieval methods
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Strong time management skills and proven ability to work on time-sensitive deliverables
- Prior Federal consulting experience in statistics and related service area preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are critical
- U.S. citizenship and clearable for Federal background investigation
- Willingness to travel and flexibility to commute to clients in the Washington D.C. metro area as needed
