Protecting the online experience & safety of customers, is important to the success of Microsoft, Windows, and Windows Live. Our team focuses on delivering the Hotmail Smart Screen for spam filtering, IE Smart Screen for phishing, malware and app reputation filtering, and the Family Safety filter to protect our children's online experience - All of these filters need a Service in the cloud that is reliable and provide accurate data for best customer experience. Spammers/phishers/predators are always trying to beat us to lure our customers to make money out of them which in turn causes a bad user experience and huge costs for Microsoft. Our team's challenge lies in coming up with right innovation and infrastructure to discourage abuse of our systems and simultaneously detect abuse that is occurring relatively faster. The specific Test Challenges lies in validating the filters integration with products like IE, Windows, & Windows Live, and validating data accuracy along with Service validation on the cloud for reliability, availability and performance. The Safety team also leverages distributed computing platforms to consume and process massive amounts of data; As such, any experience working with large datasets is a plus to have.

As our team is platform focused & delivering technologies to Live Services and enterprise products, candidates should have clear grasp on test methodologies that are applicable in the services organization such as experience testing services, end to end data distribution mechanisms and testing & deploying applications in integration and production environments; as well as building the right test infrastructure for regressing the bits. Candidates should also have the ability to drive the quality upstream by clearly articulating and clarifying the specifications, working closely with developers to understand and influence the designs and build the right test infrastructure to deliver the identified quality metrics.

Our team's automation leverages Visual Studio Test Harness and WLX common tools which integrate with WTT for test execution and prior experience in developing tests in these environments is preferred but not required. As all of the bits from this team will be delivered to partners, communicating the test plans to partner teams and working with partner teams to build appropriate integration tests is a must have skill. Requirements:

• 2-3 years development background, specifically with C/C++ or C#
• 4 to 6 years of testing background.
• Experience with .NET Framework and SQL, a
• BS degree in Computer Science or a related field
• XML and messaging knowledge are preferred.
