Researchers with experience in large-scale data (structured, semi-structured, and unstructured) storage and analysis are invited to apply for a position with the California Innovation Center of Ricoh Innovations, Inc. As a member of our team you will help identify opportunities for discovering insights in data from sensors, systems, and worker activity and develop the necessary algorithms to surface them. The work will involve employing and extending known techniques for data mining, content segmentation (image and text), pattern recognition, classification, named entity extraction, and data correlation, for deriving insights from large amounts of data.
This exciting opportunity is open to outstanding researchers in computer science or computer engineering, statistics and related areas. A strong background in developing analytical algorithms and applications is desirable. Experience working on collaborative projects in a research environment is preferred.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics or related field
- A solid understanding of Hadoop, Hive and Map/Reduce programming
- Ability to patent and publish
- Experience installing, tuning, and building real world applications on Hadoop
- Good implementation skills in Java, Python, C++, C, or equivalent experience
- Good communications skills and the willingness to work with a team
