Mission

At the heart of the internal R&D department, you contribute to the innovation process in an integrated team of world-class scientists and engineers. You will work on advanced technology and science that underlie the Web of today and tomorrow.

Your responsibilities include:

• Initiate and conduct applied research projects in the following areas: information retrieval, computational linguistics, machine learning, information management, matrix and graph algorithms, large scale data mining, recommender systems
• Adapt known approaches to the specific constraints of Bestofmedia, develop new and innovative algorithms.
• Analyze Bestofmedia data, identify problems, devise solutions compatible with the size of data and technical architecture, produce prototypes, contribute to the industrialization of solutions
• Ensure to keep abreast of the state of the art in relevant fields as well as with competing technologies, contribute to the excellence of the team through talks, technical reports, etc..

• Ph.D. or master's thesis / diploma in a relevant field: Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics, Statistics, Information Retrieval etc.
• 5 years of professional experience in applied research
• You have designed algorithms that were implemented in real-world, industrial strength products.

• Hands-on experience of developping algorithms in Machine Learning, Information Retrieval (clustering, classification, hypothesis testing, analysis, time series, recommenders, ranking, collaborative analysis...)
• Design of distributed/grid algorithms a big plus.
• Successful experience working with Web data a big plus.
• Implementation experience a plus.

• Fluent in technical English
