Chomp is an app discovery product that helps users find the best mobile apps. It combines a unique search engine that lets you search for apps based on what they do rather than what they're called, with intelligent recommendations based on your browsing and purchase history. We're solving some really challenging problems in information retrieval, natural language processing and machine learning.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• own design and development of the recommendation engine at Chomp
• any other personalization of user facing "home screen" feeds of recommended apps and 'users to follow' that include machine learning
• stay aware of state of the art research, including conference attendance

• experience implementing a recommendation systems in a production environment essential
• strong Java skills essential
• experience with Hadoop highly desirable
• familiarity with Amazon Web Services a bonus
