Ethoca Inc. (www.ethoca.com) is developing the next-generation fraud detection solution for e-commerce by exploiting the power of data sharing and analytics. We are seeking to expand our technical leadership with a seasoned data analytics and fraud detection visionary who can both drive our research and development and support the business team with data insights and solutions. The ideal candidate is an energetic, goal minded, detail oriented, and brilliant individual who is driven by a passion for data mining and predictive modeling, but can also bridge the gap between complex analytics and business-oriented insights and solutions. The Data Analytics Architect will report to the VP of Emerging Technologies and play a very centric role in the organization, interacting extensively with both the technical and the business teams.
As the Data Analytics Architect you will:
- Provide technical direction and guidance regarding data analytics and predictive modeling.
- Support the executive team in achieving its business goals by providing strategic input with regard to the acquisition and creative utilization of new data sources.
- Perform in-depth analysis of complex datasets using advanced analytics, statistics, predictive modeling, visualization and related methods, to derive business insight and design new data-driven fraud detection services.
- Prepare and deliver presentation and/or reports to communicate to customers and business team members the results of the analytical efforts.
- Supervise and provide guidance for internal analytical efforts performed by other data analytics team members
- Pursue the use of emerging analytics techniques, tools and technologies which may benefit Ethoca's anti-fraud solution.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in a quantitative field, such as Statistics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Engineering or related field is preferred, however, candidates with a business degree and demonstrated technical skills may be considered.
- Proven ability to apply complex analytics to business problems and design innovative solutions
- Prior experience in working directly with customers in a consultative role
- Experience with advanced analytical tools, including SAS, SPSS Modeler, Mathlab, Statistica, Weka, etc. - familiarity with data manipulation languages, like SQL, Perl, and Python.
- Prior exposure to fraud detection applications, including credit card fraud, money laundering, intrusion detection, click-fraud, etc.
- Over 5 years of relevant work experience
- Superior communication skills; ability to present complex data insights to a business audience
- Prior experience in working with technical and development teams
- Strong written skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Proven ability to provide leadership to a small team of data analysts and/or modelers
- Ability to manage multiple projects with adherence to strict time lines and deadlines
