Role Summary
The Associate will assist in reporting, development, and delivery of list-selection and portfolio strategies and initiatives for Discover Personal Loans within the Customer Risk Management and Assistance area. Strategies affecting these areas are critical aspects of business success.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to play a key role in this process. The role offers a significant and challenging environment for the right person to apply existing skills in a creative manner. It also provides extensive opportunity to further develop a broad range of Risk Management capabilities within a growing consumer lending area.
Key deliverables (performance measures)
- Design, produce and review reports monitoring strategy and general portfolio performance.
- Track performance of acquisition programs compared to control groups and previous vintages. Summarize tracking results and feed back findings into strategy and/or policy changes in a timely manner.
- Document the acquisition credit-policy.
- Perform data analysis, including data collection and SAS and SQL programming, to assess impact of list-selection on the portfolio in terms of losses, revenue, and profitability, etc.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor degree required; Masters degree in quantitative disciplines (mathematics, statistics, econometrics, etc.) preferred.
Qualifications
- Understanding of data and financial analysis, and/or software development
- Experience with SAS in UNIX and/or PC environments preferred
- Strong SQL and Microsoft Office skills desired
