The purpose of the work outcomes is to enable the company to predict future events, and proactively act to drive better business outcomes.
Scope of Role
- Solve complex operational problems using quantitative analysis
- Work with IT and operations/sales teams to gather information necessary to analyze results
- Identify opportunities for improvement
- Conduct performance analysis of critical revenue drivers
- Generate ideas for new strategies to add value
Required
- At least 5 years experience in advanced Excel based modeling including VBA programming.
- At least 5 years experience in a statistical software package such as R, SAS, SPSS, or equivalent
- At least 3 years experience in knowledge of database structure and writing queries. SQL Server preferred.
- At least 3 years experience in test design and analysis
- At least 2 years professional experience designing and developing statistical models, segmentation schemes and data-driven analyses
- Strong capability to build models and utilize statistical methods including data imputation, time series, logistic regression, Bayesian classification, survival analysis, neural networks and other modeling techniques
- Ability to perform exploratory data analysis and implement propensity models
- Experience working with large unstructured datasets from a variety of sources
- Experience with advanced analytical techniques such as machine learning, genetic algorithms, regression analysis, factor analysis, decision trees, and clustering
- Strong analytical skills, preferably in consumer financial services industry. Should have experience in developing and working with financial models such as cash flow and NPV models
- Experience with Data mining and Business Intelligence applications
- Strong written and oral communication skills to deliver a high quality set of analytic outcomes in a clear, easy to understand way
- Be creative, detail oriented and self-driven
- Team player but comfortable working independently
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong time management skills
- Master's degree in applied statistics, mathematics, operations research, econometrics, or other quantitative discipline. PhD preferred.
Preferred
- Demonstrated aptitude for visualizing and presenting data and a working knowledge of best practices in data visualization
- Financial services industry experience
