Join our newly-formed Digital Services team located in Boston's Innovation District, and work with our member stations nationwide to develop digital strategies and capabilities that will grow audience in local markets. The Digital Analytics Manager is the measurement and analysis champion for the organization - to infuse quantitative justification into software product development, site experience, editorial/content, and marketing decisions using audience insight and business intelligence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Audience Insight: Design and deliver relevant web analytics reports and analysis - audience profiles, performance dashboards, ad hoc investigations, etc. - and provide interpretation guidance to aid decision making by editors and product owners, as well as proactively inform editorial and product teams with relevant insight to drive and direct internal efforts
- Web Analytics Expertise: Act as resident expert of web tracking methodologies for web analytics solutions providers, particularly Google Analytics, Splunk, and Chartbeat, and provide support and training for internal staff and station clients
- Site Experience Optimization & Analysis Design: Identify insight and testing needs, approaches, and methodologies and direct data collection/analysis in the format best suited to answer key business questions, including identification of relevant KPIs and design of measurement plans aligned with new product/initiative insight goals. Ensure proper web analytics implementation and report accuracy with Technology/Product teams
- Business Planning: Collaborate with audience research team to inform strategic business decisions
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent required. MBA or equivalent Masters degree preferred
- 4+ years prior experience in an online-oriented role/business with a focus on analysis and strategy
- Strategic thinker and problem solver with a knack for seeing opportunities where measurement and analysis can help achieve business goals
- Demonstrated experience delivering results with web analytics tools, including Google Analytics
- Experience with Nielsen, Comscore a plus
- Deep understanding of news and digital media industries
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Must be able to multi-task and adapt to change
