Applied Researcher, Microsoft Adcenter

Microsoft's Search Ads Relevance and Revenue Team is looking for talented, motivated and productive applied researchers. The goal of this team is to simultaneously retrieve the most relevant information to users, provide a strong ROI for advertisers, and generate maximum value from search traffic. Our team is in the interesting junction of engineering, science, economics, and business. There are so many things to learn, and impact that literally affect millions of people.

The job requires a deep understanding of data analysis techniques like machine learning, information retrieval, speech/statistical natural language processing, or data mining. To succeed, you will need strong analytical & problem solving skills, solid cross group collaboration skills, and hard core development skills. Hands on experience in processing and analyzing large scale data for online applications is a big plus.

Basic Qualifications

• A Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Math or EE or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of modern C++
• Experience in machine learning, Speech/Statistical NLP, IR or data mining Preferred Qualifications
• Strong software design/development skills
• Proven track record in publishing high quality papers in relevant fields
