Our Client
This role, based at the company corporate office in Atlanta, will support our client in all analytical matters. Reporting to the VP of Financial Management, the AVP will lead the Business Analytics team to provide strategic thought leadership, coaching, mentoring, and talent development for the business analytics team to encourage continued progression and high performance. They will deliver proactive, accurate, timely, analytical, fact-based guidance to business leaders utilized for strategic decision making, and partner with matrix reporting relationships up, down and across the organization to effectively execute objectives within demanding timeframes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This is an extremely important role, both strategically and tactically, for our client, working with the senior leadership, developing short-term and long-term business plans, helping to define strategy and grow revenue, and leading and developing the Business Analytics team. This role will have significant strategic input, and work to influence strategic direction across functions, and be "at the table" in a high-profile, influential position in the company. The AVP-Business Analytics must ensure that consistent planning and execution is achieved for business analysis across company-wide projects and initiatives. In addition, leadership attributes are highly valued at the client company, and benchmarking, mentoring, and talent development is of equal, if not more, importance to the successful candidate. This candidate must:
- Lead the Business Analytics team which includes talent development, strategic thought leadership, organizational relationship management, and accountability for delivering results.
- Create and execute a strategic vision to provide insightful and actionable management information used to analyze results, forecast performance, assess competitive positioning and evaluate strategic opportunities.
- Advance the strategic insights and planning function to improve data mining methodologies and modeling techniques to uplift overall quality and timeliness of analysis.
- Analyze, interpret and present relevant economic, industry and customer data to business leadership in support of strategic objectives.
- Provide expert counsel to management based on advanced analytics, proactive data mining and research to support various business activities including: strategic planning, cross selling opportunities, target marketing, acquisitions, and customer sourcing and retention.
- Partner with business unit team to develop short and long term plans in support of on-going and strategic initiatives.
- Champion to promote efficiency and effectiveness though process improvement and adoption of best practices across the company.
Required Experience for Consideration
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in the fields of insurance, finance, accounting and/or statistics
- Minimum of 3+ years managing and leading employee teams
- Consulting and/or Big 4 accounting experience is preferred
- 2+ years of experience with a financial services company is preferred
Knowledge and Competencies
- Significant hands-on experience, comfortable dealing with and manipulating data
- Experience developing new strategies according to data
- Proven track record of success with implementation of new strategies and policies
- Strong analytical, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Significant experience and success developing talent and working with successful teams
- Project management skills
- Significant experience with data mining, predictive modeling, and forecasting tools & techniques
