WHO YOU ARE:
We are looking for an exceptional Core Tech Scientist to join our team. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• You will be working with terabytes of data reflecting the evolution of online video and its usage.
• You will create learning and optimization algorithms to further optimize measurement and advertising system behavior.
• You will develop innovative ways to create and optimize data sets and nodes for statistical classifiers, configure, run, and iterate on experiments to optimize performance,
• You will develop global and individual models of user behavior, and work closely with the core data team to develop large-scale algorithm implementations.
• Analyze massive amounts of data related to online video
• Define, design and implement data analysis techniques and processes
• Work with the business team to define and document requirements for optimization

YOUR EXPERIENCE IS:

• MS, MA or PhD in Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics
• 3+ years' experience in algorithm development and statistical analysis of massive datasets and events
• Strong analytical background, especially with semi-structured data
• Good understanding of machine learning algorithms, their performance constraints and applicability
• Expertise in at least one of the following:
  • statistical modeling (GMM, SVM, etc.)
  • statistical natural language processing (LDA, LSI, etc)
  • signal processing (audio and/or visual)
  • machine learning
  • data mining
• Experience developing/cleaning/optimizing data sets for developing statistical classifiers
• Research track record that demonstrates strong experimental technique
• Strong scripting skills in Linux/Unix environments (Python, Ruby, Bash, etc.)
• Experience with SQL databases
• Ability to move ideas from academic concept to industry production
• Self-motivated to meet aggressive goals, to solve problems, and to make an impact
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Able to break down complex subjects/algorithms to non-scientists
• Flexible and adaptable to new business challenges

• Experience in big data technologies, such as Hadoop/Pig, NoSQL and map/reduce
• Experience using data-driven learning, modeling and visualization techniques
