As a Research Statistician you will execute and assist in the development of statistical studies and analyses in support of the core business to meet Nielsen client needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform statistical studies by either following established procedures and researching innovative statistical approaches. Including: sample design, sample maintenance, projection, data inquires, and research.
  • Assist in the design and execute customized studies in order to meet client needs, with guidance/approval, and then write up summary of findings.
  • Document process and procedures used in studies.
  • Stay abreast of new statistical research developments and pursue internal applications.
  • Lead the statistical or measurement portion of cross-functional teams
  • Obtain a solid understanding of the business and industry and apply to projects.
Qualifications
  • MS in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field with 2+ years of experience, or equivalent
  • Academic or practical experience in conducting consumer or establishment surveys, analyzing large data sets, utilizing statistical software packages, such as SAS, or technical consultation.
  • Appropriate knowledge of specialized statistical skills and statistical software applications (SAS/SPSS)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Logic and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with UNIX desired.
