Our client, a Big 4 Advisory Services firm, is looking for an experienced consultant to manage predictive modeling engagements for Insurance Industry clients and work with a team to develop a variety of predictive models, including but not limited to: underwriting, pricing, and claims management. The ideal candidate will have the ability to interface with senior management and clients and will utilize strong communication and analytical skills to articulate the team's findings and deliver creative solutions. Responsibilities:
Data manipulation
- Evaluate the integrity of the data received from the client and external data vendors.
- Guide data management efforts to convert data to the right format for model development.
Model Development
- Utilize in-depth background in S-Plus, SAS, and SPSS to run predictive modeling algorithms.
- Use predictive modeling algorithms and other statistical techniques to develop predictive models.
- Consult with actuaries in evaluating the business implications of the results.
- Manage predictive modeling engagements by planning the engagement budget, assigning tasks to the team, monitoring the engagement progress, and leading the model development efforts.
- Assist in the implementation of predictive models after they have been developed.
Management and Communication
- Participate in and lead client meetings.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel.
- Collaborate with the client and the team to plan the engagement.
- Interface with the client to gather requirements and data.
- Respect and protect client information.
- Perform engagement tasks, communicate with clients throughout the engagement and inform supervisors of the engagement status.
- Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to assist with delivering the final presentation to each client.

Requirements:
To qualify for this excellent career opportunity, candidates must have:
- an undergraduate or graduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and/or other related major
- approximately 5 years of experience performing predictive modeling and other statistical analysis including approximately 2 years of managerial experience
- solid computer skills in S-Plus, SAS, & SPSS; knowledge of SQL and Ms Access preferred
- strong analytical and technical skills and the demonstrated ability to creatively solve complex problems
- experience with the implementation of predictive models preferred
- excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- knowledge of the insurance industry is required.
The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel.
