Description:
We recognize the potential power of the vast and diverse data we own but we need you, the Senior Quantitative Engineer, to show us how to tap into this powerful resource we have at our disposal. You will lead the "think tank" around this challenge and also handle day to day tactical responsibilities as the Senior Quantitative Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement predictive algorithms to provide insights and influence improvements.
- Design, develop, test and document data processing, decision making and predictive analytics components
- Work with product, development, business analysts and IT to engineer, test, and launch components
- Manage current and future data plans, understanding relevant source systems
- Serve as the liaison between data integration resources and the data warehouse team to resolve issues that may arise
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience developing Predictive Analytics systems utilizing large data sets, data mining, Clustering and Decision Models
- Strong communication skills, with experience explaining technical concepts to business users
- Track record of success with direct response modeling and predictive marketing, Yield/econometric optimization
- Mining and modeling large and highly unstructured data sets primarily in online consumer usage and transactions, including by not limited to keyword/semantic modeling, is highly desirable
- Passion for data and data-driven decisions
- Exposure and understanding of distributed systems and databases
- Experience with SQL query writing
- Experience with R and/or MatLab Fluency in Java, Perl or C++
- Experience with Hadoop/Hive/Pig/Mahout a plus
- Exposure to Cloud Computing Data visualization a plus
- Experience with NoSQL stores (memcached. cassandra, voldemort, etc) a plus
- Ph.D. or MS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics. Focus on IR, Data Mining or Machine Learning is desired
