Algorithm Development Scientist

Biodesix, www.biodesix.com, is a personalized medicine company focused on the development of diagnostic products that inform treatment decisions and improve patient care. Biodesix is developing proprietary mass spectrometry-based technology which enables the discovery of specific molecular profiles.

Biodesix is looking for a highly motivated individual to join its research and development group, located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Responsibilities include the development, implementation and verification of algorithms for automatic classification of mass spectra, in the spirit of machine learning (both supervised and unsupervised), as well as for statistical analysis of mass spectra (automatic detection of signals against the noisy background, etc). We are looking for a hard-working, self-motivated, result-oriented individual with good communication skills, who would like to work in a small dynamic team.

Requirements:

• excellent analytical and problem-solving skills,
• good oral and written communication skills,
• ability to solve hard nonstandard problems, developing new methods as well as creatively applying state-of-the-art methods from the current research literature,
• strong background in mathematics, probability theory, statistics and algorithms,
• good command of numerical programming,
• PhD in physics, mathematics, statistics or related field.
