Role & Purpose:
PayScale is looking for a senior software developer with experience building predictive modeling and data mining applications to help us take our analytical platform to the next level, to respond to the growing needs of our successful business.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Write code to support PayScale modeling and statistical algorithms.
- Work with analysts and data scientists to improve the accuracy, stability, and transparency of our algorithms.
- Help design and maintain a platform for analytics work across the enterprise.
- Implement new statistical methods for mining data set components.
Education Required:
- This position requires at least a Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or statistics.
Experience Desired:
- 5+ years of experience as a scientific or quantitative programmer
- Experience working with big data
- Experience bringing software development projects to successful deployment.
- Experience writing software in a variety of languages including C#, Java, or Python.
- Experience with principles of scientific data management including relational databases, file oriented data storage, types of metadata definitions, and data search and retrieval techniques
- Experience with high performance computing including building and executing programs on scientific clusters or cloud computing platforms.
- Experience testing, validating, and debugging scientific code. Experience developing validation tests that demonstrate that their programs are producing correct results.
- Able to work with data scientists on scientific code using good verbal and written communications.
