This person will have a strong background in knowledge discovery practices and technologies. He or she should be well versed in data preparation techniques, information retrieval, machine learning, visualization, classification and mining algorithms, and the use of tools such as RapidMiner, R and SAS Data Mining. Experience with healthcare claims data would be ideal, otherwise background with the healthcare subject area would be helpful. The role will also call for working with the data warehouse team to understand and agree on key data models required to support analytics and to work with internal customers and collaborators to identify analytics needs and data sources, and produce end-user documentation.
Applicants should be willing to travel up to 80% to the client site, located in Columbia, South Carolina and
must be available to begin work no later than Monday, January 30, 2012.
