Software Engineer - Search Relevance

A9.com, the search technology subsidiary of Amazon.com, is looking for highly motivated engineers interested in improving the quality of Amazon's product search. As a Software Engineer in A9's Search Relevance team, you'll assist senior engineers on the design, implementation and deployment of high performance systems that power search result relevance. You'll work in A9's small-company environment, but have access to the resources of Amazon.com, one of the world's leading Internet companies. Besides possessing rock-solid software engineering skills, you must be an innovative thinker and a strong communicator.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Ability to design reliable, maintainable code in Perl, C/C++, and Java. Familiarity with Python a plus.
• Strong algorithm design and analysis skills.
• A firm understanding of basic OS principles, UNIX, Web technologies, relational databases, and systems programming.
• A genuine passion for improving the Amazon.com search quality as part of an exciting and dynamic team.
