They will be responsible for consulting with the global marketing teams and other global business units to understand key business challenges and opportunities, set key analytic direction, strategies and tactical plans. Works with marketing, finance, operations and technical teams to ensure analytic results are accurate and consistent, common metrics are established and maintained and full alignment of understand is achieved across all parties. Strong analytic capabilities, business consulting skills and a track record of success leading database marketing efforts. Also responsible for supporting the strategic direction for setting up and executing valid measurement plans based on Design of Experiment methodologies, and developing the team as appropriate.
The candidate will manage a portfolio of high impact projects end to end - from design to development to rollout. The candidate will be expected to supervise a team of on-shore and/or off-shore Analytic resource pool. The candidate will be fully accountable on the outcome of analytics improvements implemented and ensure there's significant impact on the bottom-line.
- Identify, size and prioritize business opportunities for improvement through analytics
- Understand operational challenges, scope current state and baseline key performance metrics
- Leverage state-of-the-art data mining tools and modeling techniques
- Design model, develop initial prototype solution - hands-on approach is a key success factor
- Project manage model development - Data, Datamining, Modeling and Scoring - supervise analyst resource pool
- Execute projects within aggressive timelines
- Reengineer existing processes as necessary to incorporate new and improved analytic frameworks. Set up on-going reporting and tracking dashboards to continuously monitor impact
- Ensure EBITDA goals assigned to key Analytics Initiative(s) is realized
- Keep abreast of analytics 'best practices' from a wide range of industries
Qualifications:
- MBA with proven quantitative orientation and/or MS or MA in Statistics, Economics or Mathematics
- 8-10 years related experience including, 5+ years of experience in Datamining - must have demonstrated a pattern of success in using advanced quantitative methods to solve business problems
- Excellent technical and analytical skills - proficiency in analytic techniques extensively applied across industries (e.g., Banking, Credit Cards, Airlines)
- Ability to be creative in finding solutions working across a diverse set of markets with varying degrees of base data availability and quality
- Big picture thinker - business orientation, P&L / portfolio mentality
- Ability to succeed in a matrix environment and influence adoption of new thinking
- Experience managing analytics resources is a must
- Ability to clearly communicate, persuade and influence a wide group of people, including Senior Management
- Highly ambitious - seeks accountability in a challenging business environment and thrives on success in the marketplace through innovative problem solving
- Experience working in consumer related markets
