Analytics Lead/Scientist - NLP

We are looking for an Analytics Lead/Scientist - NLP who will help design, develop and deploy state-of-the-art, data-driven predictive models to solve business problems using the latest and most appropriate technologies in machine learning, statistical modeling and Operations Research. She or he will have broad exposure to multiple client problems and deliver value in the market place through consulting engagements, new product development and/or research initiatives.

They are responsible for the quality of analytical projects or a single class of models within a market effort. They experiment with alternative approaches and guide junior staff in their execution. Analytics Lead/Scientists understand the technology and can explain to all internal audiences, and they also assist in the preparation of material for external audiences. In terms of project management, they estimate work effort, assign tasks, and communicate milestones and results. Analytics Lead/Scientists typically work under the guidance of a senior analytical leader who oversees several projects.

• Work as part of a team to research, design, prototype and support NLP/text-mining based system that analyzes unstructured text from various sources for investment banking related business problems
• Design and develop analytic models using both structured and unstructured data
• Perform data extraction, manipulation, cleaning, analysis, modeling and data mining in support of your contributions

• Deep knowledge in the latest NLP/text-mining theories (LDA, CRF, HMM, etc.) and be a subject matter expert
• Hands-on experience in NLP techniques such topic summarization, sentiment analysis, name entity recognition, relationship extraction, information extraction and retrieval, searching and web scraping, etc.
• Knowledge and Experience with machine learning/data mining techniques (classification trees, association riles, SVM, ensemble learning, graphical models, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with at least one NLP tool such as nltk, Standford JavaNLP, GATE, Mallat, etc.
• Script languages such as python, perl, etc.
• C, C++, JAVA is desired but not required
• Experience with at least one statistical/machine learning package (R, SAS, Weka, etc.)
• Knowledge of statistical analysis
• Experience with database and SQL is preferred but not required
• Experience with handling large text datasets
• Experience with analyzing social media, news, etc.
• Must be able to work hands-on with minimal supervision or assistance
• PhD in EE, CS, Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics , Statistics with emphasis or research areas in NLP/text mining with 1 - 4 yrs of related experience
