Director of Algorithms and Analytics, Lead Scientist (PhD)
You are an accomplished mathematician/statistician and computer scientist able to develop, analyze and program/implement cutting-edge algorithms based on Bayesian networks, probability theory and statistical and behavioral models at the core of Guardian Analytics' fraud prevention applications. You will extend, develop, program and implement new algorithms and underlying mathematical theory, and use your software and database skills to help design and implement core components of our algorithms and behavior models central to our anti-fraud SaaS solutions.

In addition, you will lead, hire, manage and mentor a talented team of PhD Algorithm Scientists and MSCS Data Analytics & Modeling Engineers to continue to innovate our core analytics, and work closely with software engineering and product management to define and deliver new financial fraud analytics products that delight our customers.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Statistics, Applied Math, CS, EE or related disciplines with focus, depth of expertise and experience in developing mathematical algorithms related to probability theory, statistical modeling, and machine learning
• 7+ post academic years as a thought leader in your field and recent hands-on experience in algorithm development and statistical analysis of massive datasets and events
• Proven ability to balance probability and statistical theory and algorithms science with pragmatic problem solving skills, and a track record of developing and applying advanced predictive algorithms and behavior models to solve real world data problems
• Successful track record in hiring, leading and mentoring a high-performance team of Scientists and Data Analytics & Modeling Engineers of 6-8+
• Hands on experience with statistical analysis, visualization, data mining tools such as R or MATLAB, Python or other Unix/Linux scripting, writing SQL queries and proficiency working with databases
• OOP programming in Java or C++ and experience implementing algorithms in software a plus
• Experience in high-growth startups and dynamic product companies preferred
• Experience in anomaly and fraud detection/prevention a plus, and passion for the domain a must
