Collective[i] is a funded tech startup based in New York City. We are building a multi-tenant, high volume decision support ASP that connects disparate marketing data sources and automates the work associated with analyzing data and sharing knowledge. Our customers are marketing executives who need to be able to extract insights from large, complex data sets quickly and accurately.

Right now, we are looking for an Analytics Application Developer to design, develop, implement, and deploy our analytical applications and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide input to the strategy that supports analytical application solutions for our core product
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies that may contribute to our Analytical Application platform
• Understand product development, business strategy and business needs, and translate these into an analytical application design
• Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant Analytics technologies
• Contribute to all aspects of the development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, specification, design, implementation, and final delivery of product
• Participate in the Analytical Application system requirements specifications
• Interpret the Business Decision Support processes into program design
• Act as an individual contributor on various tasks within the project, involving low-level design and implementation
• Assume ownership of product quality and usability

Skills

• BS + 8 years experience, MS + 5 years experience, or PhD + 1 year (degree in computer-oriented technical discipline; experience in Analytical Application Design and Visualization)
• UNIX, Linux, Tomcat, Eclipse, UNIX Shell, SQL, XML, C++, C, Java, JSP, Servlets, PERL, XQuery/Xsd, MDX, BPPL, R
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to easily grasp and communicate complex ideas orally and in writing
• Expertise in object oriented design and programming
• Excellent organization and interpersonal skills

• Analytical Application Design and Visualization techniques and know-hows
• An understanding of fundamentals of Decision Support, Business Intelligence & Analytics
• UX/UI knowledge and experience for Analytical Applications
• Solid knowledge and experience with data normalization and denormalization
• Strong understanding of ASP (Application Service Provider) based solution development
• Must have in-depth knowledge of information management software development lifecycle
• Multi-tenant and multi-lingual environments
