Job Description: This Sales Strategy Analyst will help drive sales strategy, customer-facing initiatives, and performance management support across the global Starwood Sales Organization, as well as support Starwood Sales Organization leadership team with data analysis to solve business problems. This role needs a strong analytical thinker and problem solver who has good technical skills (e.g. Excel, Access, and/or SQL) and can clearly communicate findings. A high level of curiosity, motivation, and willingness to continually learn will make the person very successful.

Essential Functions:

  • Drive analytical insights and recommendations for sales leadership team on complex assignments requiring analysis, interpretation and presentation of data and information.
  • Active project team member on key sales initiatives. Partner with divisional sales peers and cross-functional teams to complete problem solving and analysis for assigned projects.
  • Create presentations and reports to support decisions and analytics to leadership team
  • Identifying long term opportunity areas to improve sales and operations
Requirements:
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in quantitative field (e.g. math, computer science, economics, statistics)
  • 2-4 years of working with and analyzing data and reports preferred
  • Superior Excel & Access skills, especially with higher analytics and modeling (e.g. vlookups, sumifs, pivots)
  • Experience with SQL, Microstrategy, or statistics programming a plus
  • Strong quantitative analytics and data interpretation skills that can address business issues
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Break down complex problems into actionable pieces
  • Drive towards recommendations and action.
  • High level of curiosity

  • Self-starter who can work independently and meet deadlines
