DESCRIPTION:

Best Buy is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our Search product team. This role will help execute search initiatives, in tandem with the Search Product Managers and technical team members, to deliver on the strategy and vision for Search. The work streams for the Search product team for Best Buy's eCommerce/online platforms are critical to driving our digital capabilities like bestbuy.com, m.bestbuy.com, t.bestbuy.com and our mobile apps.

The Sr. Business Product Analyst for Search & Navigation is responsible for helping to execute on the vision and strategy of Best Buy's Search and Navigation platform. He/she helps define requirements and acceptance criteria for the search product work streams. The Business Product Analyst is comfortable with analytics tools, reporting on business results and analyzing search data.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail and results oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills and has a strong work ethic. He/she is a highly motivated self-starter. This individual is an evangelist for his/her product and has a deep understanding of his/her customers' needs, the product and the competitive landscape. This individual will be required to have superior communication and analytical skills and an understanding of how search relevancy, recall and precision can be optimized. This position will be responsible for assisting the Product Managers with collecting external and internal customer input, gathering requirements, authoring of user stories, product roadmap development and maintenance and feature acceptance testing. Developing reports and measurement of progress and opportunities will also be a focal area for this position.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's in IT, Computer Science, business or related field
• 2 or more years of IT systems experience in one or more of the following areas, with demonstrated progression of responsibilities:
  1. Application delivery
  2. Search Application Management & Optimization
  3. Data Analysis
  4. Business Process Optimization
• 1+ years in optimization/tuning of search technologies
• Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units
• Understanding how search algorithms and indexed data impact relevancy
• A solid understanding of the business tools that integrate with search and navigation and how to leverage them to provide value to the business
• Experience with Return on Investment Analysis as well as Web Analytics experience. It is essential that this person is able to leverage numerical data and translate that into business opportunities and opportunity measurement

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, business or related field
• 3 or more years of direct e-Commerce, Web or Technology Product Management experience
• Hands on experience with Agile best practices and methods such as Lean, Scrum, Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development
• Understanding of linguistics and natural language and how those apply to search and information retrieval
• Experience with methods, tools, technologies to deliver systems for extremely high traffic and transaction volumes for Search Technology Platforms: (e.g. FAST, Endeca, Lucene/Solr, Google, Autonomy, Fred Hopper, Elastic Search)
