Overview

Condé Nast is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Database Marketing analytic professional to join the Consumer Marketing organization. This individual will support enterprise initiatives on acquisition, retention and value through the in-depth, quantitative analyses of consumer data.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Developing a deep understanding of consumer experience with our products, and how that correlates to the operational databases which support consumer activities.
  • Interpret results and communicate actionable insights that can translate into improved performance.
  • Perform regular and as-needed analysis to monitor the quality of organizational consumer data.
  • Partner with database marketing team members to identify & implement improvements to existing capabilities.
  • Project work can cover all phases - assessment, planning, documentation, data acquisition, profiling, etc of data. Perform quantitative analysis of consumer demographic, behavioral, and transactional data in support of strategic initiatives. The work can range from mining historical data to accurately establish a benchmark, to implementing a measurement and analytics framework to measure future results. Work with management and organizational peers to improve business results, by applying analytic findings to ongoing business activities.
  • Independently mine consumer data from multiple internal or external sources.
  • Produce regular database marketing KPI and productivity reports for senior management.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have

  • Exceptional quantitative analytical skills
  • Five or more years of business/marketing analytics experience, preferably in a consumer-based media organization
  • a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, economics, operations research, or mathematics.
  • A Master's degree or MBA is highly desired.
  • Expert capabilities required in SAS and SQL, capability in other analytic platforms helpful
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly in communicating and visualizing quantitative findings in a compelling and actionable manner for management.
  • Hands-on direct marketing experience (online and offline), in a medium to large data warehouse environment
  • Experience with database marketing principles including customer data integration, predictive modeling, behavioral segmentation, qualitative research, campaign execution & measurement, test design, etc.
  • Strong set of professional skills: attention to detail, logical and creative problem solving, critical thinking, ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team.
  • Experience with web analytics/Omniture is preferred.
