Centralized Transaction Operations (CTO), which is aligned under Corporate Sector, provides a wide range of global operational support and services for retail, commercial, treasury, asset wealth management and credit card customers. CTO has approximately 3,500 employees. Under the direction of Group Manager Lew Fischer, CTO is committed to a culture based on Shared Values and Behaviors. CTO is composed of four core operating functions; Acquisition Services, Information and Services, Control and Risk Management, and Payment Workflow Management . Within CTO, these groups are supported by Performance Consulting, Implementation Services and Communications groups.
The Analytical Services group is responsible for developing, implementing and improving the production analytics that support various operations within the CTO organization, for example, ATM operations supporting the Chase Consumer and Community Bank. The Analytical Services Program Manager has multiple roles in the organization:
- Building and managing 6-7 analysts on the team to ensure that they are applying the appropriate amount of analytical rigor to support operational analytics
- Being a thought leader in the application of analytics within operations
- Performing hands-on analytical work, for example, data manipulation/synthesis, forecasting, predictive modeling, and general data analysis.
More specifically the Analytical Services Program Manager has the following responsibilities:
- Helping define and build Analytical Programs in support of a variety of operations, including all aspects of people, process, and technology.
- Building and leading a team of 6-7 analytical professionals supporting operations within CTO
- Attracting, developing and retaining superior analytical talent within this organization
- Performing data analysis by mining information from various data sources and producing meaningful, actionable information
- Developing processes to manage the integration of analytics within operations
- Creating statistical, forecasting and predictive models to improve operational effectiveness
- Developing the governance framework to ensure that the analytics are built using standard best practices and have been stress tested sufficiently and implemented correctly
- Presenting findings and recommendations to members of the senior leadership team to enable them to make proactive business decisions and/or react quickly to changes in the business environment
- Developing reports and structuring presentations pertaining to the defined analytics programs to communicate key messages to senior management
- Identifying areas of opportunity through rigorous analysis of key performance metrics/indicators
- Identifying process improvements to streamline data collection/processing and analytics
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience leading an analytical team
- Minimum 10 years experience using data mining/analytical methods to improve business performance
- Master's degree in a technical discipline such as mathematics, statistics, computer science
- Detailed technical knowledge of and hands-on experience with various statistical, forecasting and predictive modeling methods (Monte Carlo, ANOVA, regression, time series analysis, neural networks, decision trees)
- Superior communication and leadership skills. Ability to independently interact with all levels of management and to present technical solutions in a comprehensible way
- Hands-on experience with data gathering/management/manipulation
- Strong SQL and SAS programming skills (Base/Advanced SAS Programming Certification preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of database design and relational database principles
- Experience supporting key management decisions with clear and concise data analysis
- Strong listening, presentation, communication and influencing skills
- Demonstrated use of SAS Enterprise Miner preferred
- Banking experience preferred, and specific knowledge of banking operations helpful
